It has been said that when a man really loves a woman he can smell her enter a room before he can even see her.  A gift from our animal friends perhaps, I truly believe that when you are in love with another person all of our senses are heightened when it comes to that person.  But what do women really want? , who can answer that question?  It has been one that has been perplexing men for ages and just when you think that you have got it all figured out what happens, they go and change their minds.  Women are complex creatures and many times what they are saying is not what is meant.  For example say you are relaxing after dinner watching the game or whatever and your lady comes up to you and says that the trash need to be taken out.  This is a pretty obvious statement, she wants you to take out the trash now.  On the other hand if she comes to you with a problem about work, this is usually not a problem that she expects you to "fix".  Even if she tells you that some jerk at work is harassing her.   As men we are often times compelled to "fix" problems that plague our ladies and sometimes we feel emasculated if we are not able to help.  It's what we do, we are men what can we say.  But I assure you that when a woman comes to you with a serious problem that she is experiencing, she is not always asking for you to correct it.  Now don't confuse this situation to one when you are out together and some guy starts harassing her, this is a point when you flex your muscles a little bit.  Step in and DEFUSE the situation, and by defuse I don't mean to start a fight.  Simply end the situation and continue to enjoy your evening.

Women love a knight in shining armor and we love to provide that for our women, however we only tend to cover certain aspects of our knightly duties.  We love to slay the dragons or trek through the forest to save the princess, but we tend to forget about chivalry or making our princess feel like a princess.  These are still our knightly duties gentlemen.  It can sometimes be easy to find the girl of your dreams, but keeping the girl of your dreams takes some effort.

So what do women really want

If you already found the girl of your dreams or are still looking for the girl of your dreams the plan is simple.  Continue to be the guy she first met.  No one finds the girl of their dreams by being a jerk, or not listening to a woman so why is it that once we are in a relationship where we are comfortable that we become complacent?  Guys will do just about anything for women we like in the beginning, but once to that point we forget how to please them.  The surprises stop ,no more romantic dinners with just the two of you.  Well guys it is not all our fault that things turn sour, women change.  Women change almost as often as they change an outfit., and if you have ever been waiting on one for an evening out you know how that can be.  So how can we really know how to please a woman if they are ever-changing?

Start by turning of the TV: Take an evening to reacquaint yourself with your lady.  See what is going on new in her life, how she is feeling emotionally.  You will be surprised at what you can learn, how much fun you can have just enjoying each others company.

Play games together: Board games, video games, sex games they are all fun and can be an evening of great entertainment that won't cost you a thing.  One word of caution though let her win sometimes.  If she doesn't win she may quickly lose interest and will defeat the whole purpose of playing the game in the first place.  Try to pick video games that you can play together like Rockband or Simpson's Hit and Run.  It will give you the opportunity to work together as a team to accomplish one goal.  There has been news of an Amazing Race game coming out in October for the Wii platform.  That would be a really cool one.  A membership to a site like gamefly will help keep the cost down of buying new games and if you try one you don't like you can always send it back.

Plan special events to surprise your lady: Don't wait for her to start dropping hints, it's already too late by then so every 30-40 days plan something special for just the two of you to do or just a special day for her.  Send her flowers at work, then have dinner waiting when she gets home  That is a good way to get the evening off to the right start.  A great way to pamper her is to wake her up early on a Saturday and take her to a spa for a couple of hours of all those things that ladies love.  Manicures, pedicures, facials you know the works.  While she is there you can go play a round of golf or something then pick her up for lunch at her favorite restaurant and finish the afternoon off with a bit of shopping.  Warning this is not to be used for anniversaries, birthdays or Valentine's day.  But if you orchestrate this well  by the end of the day you will have a happy clam and a pass to a weekend that the both of you will never forget.

All in all it is pretty simple to keep our ladies happy, it just takes a little extra effort sometimes on our parts and it usually involves things that we love to do anyway.  Well except for the talking, but hey it is better to do it willingly than to be forced to go to a therapist to discuss your issues right.
